DESCRIPTION:
Ubuntu has acknowledged a security issue in pam, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The security issue is caused due to the PAM MOTD module creating user
file stamps in an insecure manner, which can be exploited to e.g. gain
root privileges via symlink attacks.
SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages.
